Taya Belgin Brain ASID, member of our Advisory Board, has spent fifteen years recruiting top-notch candidates for the biotechnology, financial, engineering, and high technology fields throughout California; she is now focusing on assisting Hire and Hire globally in addition to her domestic endeavors. She attended San Diego State University and studied fine arts, marketing and psychology. After completing her studies she moved to Europe and ran two of her family's successful businesses in Germany. Summary of Current Research Interests:
Molecular and cellular mechanisms of antiproliferative agents targeted to human prostate cancer cells such as the estrogenic analogue of diethylstilbestrol (DES) which appears to block the cell cycle and induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. The cytotoxic effects of Fenretinite on androgen-independent prostate cancer cells in culture is under investigation, as well as the modulation of the androgen receptor in these cells. Karyotypic analyses , conducted in collaboration with investigators at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NIH) have revealed in a human transitional bladder carcinoma cell line, isolated and cultured at the Urology Division (Surgery) of Duke Medical Center, the presence of two aneuploid clones with distinct patterns of chromosomal aberrations and deletions previously linked to bladder cancer. Such spectral analyses will allow detailed analyses of possible relationships between chromosomal aberrations and mechanisms of carcinogenesis.
